About

"I use fashion photography as a way to tell stories —whether it’s your story, your style, or your vision."

_ Kari Shu.

Kari Shu is a Vienna-based fashion photographer and visual storyteller, working with individuals and brands across Europe.

She began her creative journey as a model — an experience that shaped her instinctive eye for light, angles, and the energy of a person in front of the lens. In 2018, she stepped behind the camera, merging her fashion background with a passion for creating refined, emotionally honest, and visually striking imagery.

Kari’s work centers on female portraiture and fashion, with a signature ability to reveal the natural elegance of every client — whether it's a personal shoot, a campaign, or a collection lookbook. Clients often say she captures people in a way that makes them look and feel like models.

In addition to photography, Kari is also a professional retoucher, ensuring each image is finished with precision, artistry, and intention.

Today, she continues to explore how fashion imagery can express identity — capturing not just how someone looks, but what makes them unforgettable.

Fact 1

As a kid, I loved drawing eyes. Now I know — the gaze says everything.  That’s why I do everything I can to make my clients feel confident and at ease — it always shows in the eyes.

Fact 2

Before photography, I was a model. That time gave me a deep love for posing, styling, and helping others feel powerful in front of the lens.

Fact 3

Clients often tell me: “I’ve never seen myself like this.” That’s the best part of what I do.

Fact 4

Retouching is my second language. I treat it like sculpture — subtle, intentional, and always enhancing, never hiding.
